An encounter with an ex-practitioner

February 7, 2007

The first few times I had acupuncture I was in my first year. I didn’t know much about it, but I did know that a good friend of mine had just started a degree in Chinese medicine, and that my sleep pattern was rubbish and I was stressed about exams. I went, and it seemed to work. I also got on really well with a few of the students. After I’d been a few times it had come to the end of the semester and I went back home for the summer. That was two years ago.

A little before Christmas I was in a pub celebrating a friends birthday when I bumped in to one of the girls that had treated me. She remembered treating me, and asked how my sleep was, and how my course was going. She even remembered some of the points that she had needled. We chatted for a while, and I asked her how her career was going.

“Erm. I work at Primark”
